ASBATANKVOY Part II Clause 8 — Demurrage, and the half rate

Demurrage runs per running hour at the agreed rate, in proportion for part of an hour. Clause 8 halves the rate for demurrage caused by a list of events, of which weather is one. LayGrounded applies the half rate only to demurrage time during which a weather delay is logged in the Statement of Facts, treats any logged weather as qualifying rather than storm alone, and reports those hours separately. Demurrage caused by the clause's other events, such as fire, explosion, a strike or a breakdown at the shore installation, is charged at the full rate: LayGrounded does not apply the half rate to them yet.
