About LayGrounded

Our Mission

A demurrage claim brings together a port log, charterparty terms and evidence from several parties. LayGrounded brings those inputs into one workspace, applies deterministic calculation rules and shows how each result was reached. The aim is to make review and negotiation easier for operators, claims teams and counterparties.

The Founder

LayGrounded is built and maintained by Panagiotis-Sergios Georgakopoulos, a solo tech founder and undergraduate student at the University of Piraeus. Combining a deep understanding of computer science with a passion for the maritime industry, LayGrounded bridges the gap between modern technology and traditional shipping operations.

Why LayGrounded?

A useful claim needs more than a total. It needs reviewed inputs, clear assumptions and a calculation the other side can reproduce. LayGrounded keeps those together, with clause references, evidence checks and an offline verification bundle. Maritime professionals remain responsible for confirming the facts and the contract terms that apply to their fixture.
