AMWELSH 93 Clause 6(c) — The move into the berth does not count

Under Clause 6(c), from the moment a berth is free until the vessel is in it, the clock stops, whether she is still on laytime or already on demurrage, and the owners pay for the move. Unlike GENCON 94, the notice variant makes no difference. LayGrounded finds the move in the Statement of Facts: a shift that begins before the vessel was first all fast or berthed is treated as the move into the berth. No event records the moment the berth became free, so the time between then and the start of the shift is not excepted.
